Fall YMCA Soccer - October 2012

Zach getting ready to play forward.  His favorite position.

 Molly looking on...

 Zach on defense this half.

The grass here is not the same as Utah grass that is for sure.

 It was freezing this day!

Zach was the newcomer but fit right in.  He also scored most of the goals when he played forward.

Fall is Coming - October 2012

This is our walk to Zach's school.  I just loved the to watch the colors change.

The Outdoor Classroom, where students can participate in planting and gardening.  Each grade made their own scarecrow, which reflected what they were learning.
Mr. Thome's 5th grade class chose Albert Einstein as they were learning about different scientists.

Another class' scarecrow, a Westside Warrior (the mascot for the local high school).

The backside of the Outdoor Classroom.  Beans are planted on the left and peppers on the right behind the fruit tree.

Walking Molly in the Park - September 2012

This is our favorite park to walk through.  Molly just wants to chase the squirrels.

The trail winds around a pond and people even fish in it.

The trail opens up to this area that has a bridge across Papio River.  We bike on this part of the trail.

More pond, but the water is slimy green at this end.  I have spotted a few new birds here such as a Downy Woodpecker, Blue Jay, and a Wood Duck.

The leaves are just starting to turn.

 Back home.

Robert's Birthday - September 26, 2012

This is the candygram Zach and I made for Robert's birthday.

The back side of the candygram...notice how Zach signed it!

A Hershey's chocolate cake I made.  Notice the cake stand.

A Day at the Durham Museum...and surrounding area. September 22, 2012

Zach in front of the Durham Museum.

The Durham Museum housed in the old Omaha Union Station.

It houses exhibits of old train cars.

 Street cars.

 And steam engines...

Other exhibits give a history of the region.

Zach trying to crack an old safe.

Just wanted to show the size of this exhibit.

Sitting inside one of the passenger train cars.

 Pretty fancy.

This is a floor map of the city of Omaha and surrounding areas.

Here is Creighton University's location right where there is a repair in the floor.

Zach is standing above "Oakdale" where he goes to school.

This is the main entrance, with an authentic old soda fountain at the end (Zach and I had a sundae).

I love this photo!  Zach copying a statue of a soldier waiting at the train station.   Love the huge flag in the background.

The main entrance, it is being set up for a wedding, which they have a lot here.

Heartland of America Park downtown Omaha.

You can faintly see the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge which crosses over to Iowa.

National Forest Service Regional Office Building.

Later that night Molly decided she wanted to not only sit with Zach but "on" him.  It was funny.  She had been home all day alone, maybe she needed some cuddle time.
